Huzaifa Ali

Huzaifa Ali is a PhD student in Islamic Studies in the Religious Studies Department at Northwestern University. His research focuses on the relationship between colonialism and secularism in the context of British imperialism in the 19th century India. He wants to critically examine the emergence of the secular discourse in the writings of Sayyid Ahmad Khan and his interlocuters with the aim to uncover, through a genealogical analysis, the contemporary positions of South Asian scholars on secularism and modern political institutions. Ali completed his Bachelors in Social Sciences and Liberal Arts from IBA Karachi. His advisor is Dr. Brannon Ingram.
