Kristen Balzer

Kristen Balzer is a doctoral student in American Religions. Her research focuses on the prosperity gospel, race, and politics in the 20th-century United States and draws from cultural history, political theology, and ethnographic fieldwork. Kristen holds B.A.s in History and Sociology from Johns Hopkins University and an M.Div. from Duke Divinity School, where she worked closely with prosperity gospel expert Kate Bowler and earned the Richard P. Heitzenrater Award for Excellence in History. Her advisor is James Bielo.
