March

The Department of Religious Studies would like to express its grief over the shootings in Christchurch, New Zealand, and solidarity with the victims and survivors. We stand with the Muslim community in this time of sorrow.

March 15, 2019

This attack was the outcome of a deeply racist hatred of Muslims that has proliferated on the Internet. Educating people about Islam, and all religions, is one of the ways we can counter the attacker's ideology. Our department is ready to serve as an educational resource for the Northwestern community and beyond.

Congratulations to Professor Sarah Dees who has accepted a new position as Assistant Professor of American Religions in the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies at Iowa State University.
